First Bears of the Season
Kirsten and I left Homer a few days ago in search of the first bears of the season. We flew to the Alaska Peninsula and sure enough they are out and about. We saw lots of bear tracks along with some wolf and fox tracks.
We flew all the way to Bristol Bay. While we flew along the beaches we found an unbelievable amount of glass balls.
The glass balls are remnants of the Japanese fishing nets. They would make these glass floats onboard the ships to keep their nets floating.
The weather was beautiful and felt like spring was in the air.
